Half Price Sunday on Poker Stars

Whether you’re a grinder or a casual player in the online poker world, you probably know that Sundays are the busiest days on Poker Stars for tournaments. In addition to the Sunday Storm and Sunday Millions, the poker room offers a wide range of unique tournaments that you just can’t compete in any other day of the week. This Sunday is going to be special, however, as all tournaments are half-price!

This is the first half-price Sunday ever, and Poker Stars is pleased to offer players a wide selection of affordable poker comps this week. The comps included in the promotion are:

• Sunday Kickoff – $54.50
• Sunday Warm-Up – $107.50
• Sunday Storm – 5.50
• Sunday Million – $107.50
• Women’s Sunday – $27.50

With the Warm Up and the Million costing just over $100, the field of players is likely to be huge. While the tournaments normally attracted 2000 to 3000 players, Poker Stars is expecting upwards of 6000 players in each. So, the guarantee for these tournaments is likely to climb to unprecedented heights!

Zoom Poker Out of Beta

This week, Zoom Poker has come out of Beta mode. After successful testing and trials, PokerStars’ Zoom Poker is an official offering from the online poker giant. To mark the occasion, Stars has also released Zoom Poker as a mobile application.

During the beta testing period of Zoom Poker, over 300 million hands were dealt. Despite being in a trial mode, players flocked to the application, as it seemed to be a suitable replacement for Full Tilt Poker’s Rush Poker application. It seemed to have exceeded players’ expectations, as it offered up a wider range of games and stakes than Rush Poker.

If you don’t already know what Zoom Poker is, it is a face-paced online poker application. Players can fit in more hands as they are move to a new table every time they fold. It allows players to get in the volume when it comes to grinding it out in the online poker world – and is a fun way for beginners to learn the basics.

The mobile version of Zoom Poker is only available for Android devices from the .net, .com and .co.uk PokerStars domains. There is no word yet on whether or not it will be released for .com.au; however, New Zealand and Australian players can still take part in Zoom poker on the downloadable suite of PokerStars.

Poker Stars Launches Mobile Gambling Application

It seems that iTunes is becoming increasingly lenient about its online gambling regulations. Previously, the company would not allow developers to sell real-money gambling applications in its marketplace, causing Full Tilt Poker’s Rush Poker app to be banned. Now, just a year later, Poker Stars has been allowed to launch its own online gambling application.

Poker Stars mobile allows players to compete in poker games from their mobile phones. At the moment, only Texas Hold ‘Em and Omaha are available. However, players can take part in cash games, tournaments and different limit variations of the game.

There are some other great features that players can take advantage of. Firstly, players can multi-table, accessing up to 5 tables at once. Players also have access to their hand histories and all of their account information with a touch of their screen.

The new Poker Stars mobile application rolled out in Italy first before being brought to the United Kingdom. It is likely that the application will be introduced to other markets around the world and New Zealand residents are keeping their fingers crossed. With online gambling laws in review, it doesn’t seem so unlikely.
